Virus attacks

Two virus attacks seen in the last few days:

1) A false SMART warning mimicking disk drive S.M.A.R.T monitoring, telling the user that there are lots of disk errors, and inviting a link to be clicked.  If this warning is seen, the virus has already affected the machine and needs to be removed.  The purpose of the scam appears to be get the user to buy some software.  Easiest way to remove this is log onto the machine as another user, and download and run MalwareBytes Free.

2) A web page purporting to show a series of warnings from Microsoft Security Essentials, and inviting the user to Clean the computer.  When pressed, this button opens a setup program.  The web page which this comes from appears to be Netmonitor.  No damage is done if the setup button is not allowed to continue.
